Evanston Youth Music Festival
Musicians Uniting to Support Education (M.U.S.E) will be hosting the first Evanston Youth Music Festival on March 9, 2024. 4th and 5th graders are invited for a day of playing music, learning about local opportunities, and building community with fellow musicians. We will hold clinics on various genres of music (hip-hop, jazz, funk, etc.) for students to play music outside of their school environment. Local organizations are invited to present at our organization fair, where groups have booths to encourage students to participate in programs. In the last half hour, parents will be invited to a presentation of what students learned throughout the day.
Education
Organization Fair
In partnership with multiple music organizations in the Evanston community, students and their parents will be able to get informed about local resources available to them and how they can get involved at our Organization Fair.
Clinics
Students will participate in clinics of their choosing led by fellow high school and college musicians, allowing them to explore different genres of music with their peers and teaching them fundamental ideas.
Parent Presentation
To close off the day, parents are invited to a presentation in which they can learn about the various music resources available to their children, as well as a summary of the skills and music their children learned throughout the day.
